Everybody in Hong Kong knows FLM. This iconic gay bar is the perfect place to enjoy cocktails and, to be honest, the liveliest crowd you’ll ever encounter in the city.
Beyond the company and drinks, you can’t skip this bar without seeing their shows. Depending on the night, you may catch some of the sassiest drag shows or see dances bumping to the tunes of funky music.
On top of that, there are various activities to kill time for, including karaoke and bingo. The crowd is also a nice mix of young and old, so I’m sure you’ll find a few buddies to join you as you play!
2. Vibranium

Address: 15 Sharp Street East, Causeway Bay
Contact Details: +852 7071 4048
Operating Hours: Sunday – Thursday: 7:00 PM – 2:00 AM | Friday – Saturday: 8:00 PM – 4:00 AM
Price: $$
Okay, so Vibranium is actually more for locals than foreigners, but hey – I didn’t say you wouldn’t have a great time here! The place is usually packed with loud music blasting through the speakers. If that’s your thing, then you’re in the right place.
The DJ plays energetic EDM tunes, so feel free to dance with your company. There’s a nice mix of other tunes too – mostly K-Pop – but you’ll also hear a few canto pop and J-Pop hits.
As for the drinks, they don’t require a cover charge or have minimum consumption rules. It may be one of the most affordable places for cocktails (at least in Causeway Bay), so don’t fear drinking to your heart’s desire – responsibly!
3. Virus Restaurant & Bar

Address: 21/F, Chung Wai Commercial Building, 447-449 Lockhart Road
Contact Details: +852 6180 6255
Operating Hours: Sunday: 6:30 PM – 11:30 PM
Price: $
Virus has been in the bar scene since 1997, but as of late, it’s been attracting a pretty sizable gender-inclusive audience. But beyond the safe and comfortable space, it’s definitely the food that draws everyone in!
Food here is cheap (literally one of the cheapest I’ve encountered in HK). If you’re dining in groups of 2 to 4 people, a dinner of seafood and meat skewers will only set you back by $200.
Plus, their happy hour menu is super fun. From 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM, you can access unlimited red and white wine, as well as beer and sake. How much? For $98 only!
By the way, the place has a couch area which is best for relaxing, while there’s also a karaoke in the main room if you prefer a bit of fun. Up to you where you want to settle in!
4. Singsing Bar

Address: 18/F, Oliv, 15 Sharp Street East, Causeway Bay
Operating Hours: Sunday – Thursday: 9:00 PM – 4:00 AM | Friday – Saturday: 9:00 PM – 5:00 AM
Price: $
Singsing has been gaining a lot of traction lately, especially among young foreigners who are just looking to have a good time. Though I want to say, compared to the other bars I’ve been to, this one feels super sophisticated and rich.
If the name doesn’t give it away yet, this bar is the place to go to sing your heart out. It’s an upscale karaoke bar lounge that’ll make you feel like you’re a local star among adoring patrons.
You simply have to line up with your song choices, wait your turn, and take your seat at one of the podiums. There are two seats, so yes, duets are possible!
And oh – they host singing contests where the winners get to win bottles. Give it a shot if the chance comes!
5. T:ME Bar (TIME Bar)
Media credit timebarhk
Address: Rear block, 65 Hollywood Rd, Central
Contact Details: +852 2332 6565
Operating Hours: Monday – Saturday: 6:00 PM – 2:00 AM
Price: $$
If your ideal night involves a laid-back chat with a nice sense of privacy in an intimate setting, TIME bar is your friend. Like the previous one, the place is more sophisticated, making it a nicer place for a chat than your typical party.
The prices of the cocktails are good, usually ranging from $80 to $120 only. And the bartenders are super nice – they’re a great contrast to the occasional “divas” you might encounter on some nights. Don’t worry, the culture here is just like that.
Just take note, if you want that quiet setting, you need to avoid coming by on Friday or Saturday nights. It’s noisy during those days, so it’s hard to keep a good conversation going. If you don’t mind though, soldier on and you’ll have fun.
6. LinQ Bar
Media credit linqbar
Address: 35 Pottinger St, Central
Contact Details: +852 6607 0884
Operating Hours:
- Monday: 4:00 PM – 3:00 AM
- Tuesday – Friday: 4:00 PM – 5:00 AM
- Saturday: 6:00 PM – 5:00 AM
- Sunday: 8:00 PM – 3:00 AM
Price: $
LinQ has everything you want to find in a gay bar: it’s safe, it’s fun, and it sells cheap drinks! With some of the most electrifying tunes spun by the DJ, it’s totally a party out here, especially if you come by on Friday or Saturday.
The service alone is enough to make anyone fall in love. The staff literally personally greets everyone, and when it’s not too busy, they take time chatting and introducing people to some of their regulars.
They do have promos on drinks, so it’s best to keep up with their socials to score some savings. Here’s a secret, though – swing by on a Wednesday and show your Grindr account to enjoy their buy-one-get-one deal!
7. Bing Bing HK

Address: F15, HK Hong Kong Island 22, Oliv, 15 Sharp St E, Bowrington
Contact Details: +852 7071 4048
Operating Hours:
- Monday – Thursday: 7:00 PM – 3:00 AM
- Friday – Saturday: 8:30 PM – 5:30 AM
- Sunday: 8:30 PM – 3:00 AM
Price: $$
Sitting high on the 22nd floor, Bing Bing is the perfect spot to enjoy nightlife while overlooking the bustling crowds of Causeway Bay. Unlike other places that feel packed, this bar is actually pretty spacious, so there’s plenty of ground to move.
The crowd is a good mix too – you’ll find plenty of tourists as well as locals at the venue. However, it’s safe to say that the crowd here is young and hip.
For the entertainment, you’ll likely hear many English songs blasting through, but they do transition to many trendy K-Pop songs later on in the night (this usually signals patrons to hop on top of tables and dance like crazy!).
8. The Pontiac
Media credit wearethepontiac
Address: 13 Old Bailey St, Central
Contact Details: +852 9454 8323
Operating Hours:
- Sunday: 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM
- Monday – Wednesday: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM
- Thursday – Friday: 4:00 PM – 1:00 AM
- Saturday: 2:00 PM – 1:00 AM
Price: $$
What’s awesome about The Pontiac is that it works whether you’re alone or in a group. Not only is it safe, but the vibe is welcoming. People simply enjoy a drink, chat, or have a small dance party to themselves.
Drinks are cheap at only around $90 per option. But if you want to save a bit more, you can score some drinks at $40 to $50 during their happy hour before 7:30 PM.
Like most bars, it tends to get busy later in the evening. But while it can feel packed, it’s not too noisy and you can definitely still carry out a conversation amidst the sounds.
9. Boo Bar

Address: 5/F Pearl Oriental Tower, 225 Nathan Road, Jordan
Contact Details: +852 2736 6168
Operating Hours: Sunday – Thursday: 7:00 PM – 2:00 AM | Friday – Saturday: 7:00 PM – 3:00 AM
Price: $$
If your idea of a fun night out involves karaoke (honestly, same), you need to come to Boo Bar ASAP! The karaoke speakers can be too loud, but really, it’s super fun once you’re in the right crowd that cheers you on.
Even better, you don’t have to wait too long before you get to your turn. You can simply pick your songs, line up, and sing your lungs out to every tune your heart desires.
If you don’t like karaoke much, that’s okay – they do play some K-pop hits later in the night.
Drinks are reasonably priced, and you can easily sit back and silently judge (kidding!) other singers on the karaoke. Better reserve a table, though, especially for Friday and Saturday nights as they’re the busiest days.
10. The Cloakroom Bar HK
Media credit lch__hayden
Address: 15/F, L’ Hart, 487-489 Lockhart Rd, Causeway Bay
Contact Details: +852 9304 1443
Operating Hours:
- Sunday – Wednesday: 6:00 PM – 12:00 AM
- Thursday: 6:00 PM – 2:00 AM
- Friday – Saturday: 6:00 PM – 3:00 AM
Price: $$
The Cloakroom is pretty new, but it’s gaining rightful attention among locals, especially among the youth. This speakeasy-style bar is the best place to score some of the most IG-worthy cocktails in the city. Seriously – those alone were worth the trip!
The location is fantastic. It’s in Causeway Bay, right outside the MRT exit. It is a bit expensive, and drinks can cost at least $150 after the service charge. But for your occasional splurge, it’s pretty fine.
Some nights, you can sing karaoke, but that’s not really the appeal (at least to me). It has a nice jazz lounge feel, so you’ll likely have a laid-back time here with a drink in hand and just hang out with your friends.
