With eight branches across the city, Otic Hearing & Speech Centre is currently the largest hearing healthcare clinic in Hong Kong. It has been an exclusive distributor of Oticon hearing aids in HK since 2005.
What we like most about this clinic is it’s highly skilled team. Comprising of registered clinical audiologists, lab technicians, and audiology technicians, the clinic ensures patients are in the hands of professionals with years of relevant experience.
Many of their audiologists have earned master’s degrees overseas in specialized fields, such as audiological science, tinnitus research, and audiological equipment.
We also appreciate that clinic’s committment to professional development for its team. They regularly participate in local and overseas training and seminars, helping them be more knowledgeable about the most recent advancements in hearing technology.
We’re also really impressed with the wide variety of hearing aid solutions they provide. From brain-hearing technology to 360-degree sound access, they have it all.
The only real downside is the long wait times for consultations, which can be quite frustrating.

Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic is part of the University of Hong Kong’s Faculty of Education.
What sets this clinic apart is its dedicated team of registered audiologists and speech therapists who work with supervised postgraduate students.
While the students themselves are not yet registered professionals, we appreciate the effort they put into training. They undergo clinical mentorship, educational workshops, and specialized short courses before stepping into their roles.
They always work under the guidance of experienced professionals to ensure everything is accurate.
We were particularly impressed by the clinic’s ability to offer specialized services despite its smaller size compared to other facilities. Equipped with all the clinical tools, the clinic performs a wide range of hearing assessments.
One standout feature is their expertise in handling Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD). As one of the few clinics in Hong Kong that provides CAPD evaluation and therapy, they fill an important gap in the city’s healthcare system.
Another aspect we appreciated is their assistance with selecting and evaluating hearing aids and assistive listening devices. Their team , however, don’t manufacture the devices themselves.

The Audiology Services Clinic at Gleneagles Hospital earns its spot on our list for its comprehensive, patient-centered approach to hearing care.
Led by a team of audiologists and ENT specialists, this clinic offers various hearing diagnostic and rehabilitative care for infants and adults.
Beyond the standard hearing level check-ups, Gleneagles also provides a broad scope of hearing assessments. This includes reflex tests, middle ear condition evaluations, and tinnitus assessments.
We were particularly impressed by this in-depth approach to diagnosis. It reflects how thorough and detail-oriented their audiologists are in understanding each patient’s unique condition
We also appreciate the personalized solutions they offer for their rehabilitation service. For instance, individuals with sensorineural hearing loss caused by damaged cochlea or auditory nerves will benefit from their structured aural rehabilitation programs.
Another thing that stood out to us is their variety of hearing aid styles. From invisible-in-the-canal to behind-the-ear and receiver-in-the-canal hearing aids, the clinic caters to a range of preferences.
The only downside we see is that they don’t accept walk-in consultations.

The CUHK Medical Centre’s audiology clinic stands out for its modern facilities. We were particularly impressed by their consultation rooms and the integration of advanced technology, a hallmark of the “smart hospital” environment in which the clinic operates.
One of this clinic’s key strenghts is its thorough audiology evaluation. Consultation can last up to 90 minutes, so you can take your time during your hearing tests.
This extended timeframe also allows their audiologists to conduct in-depth assessments and carefully consider what hearing device or solution best suits their patient’s needs.
We also love CUHK’s wide range of hearing aid options. They offer behind-the-ear, receiver-in-canal, and in-the-ear styles. They also offer various brands and models of auditory implants.
CUHK is a non-profit private hospital, but the cost of consultations and hearing aids can still be quite high.
However, we appreciate that CUHK Medical Centre offers some financial relief through direct billing arrangements with certain local and international insurers. Eligible elderlies can also use their healthcare vouchers to save a bit more.

Phonak Hearing Centre is a well-established name in Hong Kong’s hearing care landscape, with a solid reputation that dates back to 1986.
We like that they have a big team of experts, including registered audiologists and audiology technicians. It’s also great that these experts specialize in various audiology services as it ensures tailored approach to each patient’s needs.
We were especially impressed by their expertise in pediatric hearing care, but they also cater to adults and the elderly.
Phonak offers a comprehensive range of services, from consultations and hearing tests to hearing aid prescriptions.
Another thing that made them stand out is their use of innovative technology. They’re the first hearing center in the city to use 3D printing earmold technology, which makes hearing aid prescription and fitting more efficient.
On top of that, they offer a one-week free trial for all hearing aids. It’s a fantastic way for patients to experience the devices firsthand and make any necessary adjustments before making a purchase.
That said, this clinic isn’t all perfect. Some patients have reported long waiting times and unresponsive staff, which caused some frustrations.
