From climate-controlled suites and swimming pools to hydrotherapy spas and spacious play areas, we bet your pup’s tail will be wagging nonstop with all the exciting facilities to explore.

Here, dogs can socialize and roam freely across large outdoor pavilions and grassy parks. Under the supervision of experienced caretakers, they enjoy approximately four to five hours of social play each day.

For senior dogs, we’re pleased to know that PetWorld Resort offers “Transpawtation.” It is a specialized pick-up and drop-off service designed to minimize travel stress.

Their care programs for senior furry buddies are also a great touch. These programs often include reduced playtime, special dietary considerations, and comfortable accommodations. 

To keep pet owners in the loop, the staff provides regular photo updates throughout each dog’s stay—an extra perk we always appreciate!

However, one minor downside we noticed was the lack of responsiveness when scheduling an appointment. This can be inconvenient for those in need of last-minute bookings.

Nestled in the picturesque hills of Sai Kung, Ferndale Kennels & Travel offers a true countryside escape for your dogs.

Here, they can roam freely in a large, secure compound. They can also enjoy scenic hill walks with caretakers and play fetch with other dogs.

Ferndale’s pet boarding facilities are also particularly noteworthy. It has 33 climate-controlled kennels for dogs and 30 air-conditioned indoor condos for cats.  

Each kennel also features an adjacent outdoor run, ensuring plenty of space for dogs to move around.

Additionally, dogs receive multiple exercise sessions and outdoor playtime activities each day. And there’s no need to worry—every facility is closely supervised and fully escape-proof.

When it comes to your pet’s dietary needs and medication, Ferndale’s in-house veterinarians ensure that every requirement is met with expert care.

We’re also pleased to know that pets boarding here receive regular brushing and combing at no extra cost. 

The only downside is that the daycare is closed on weekends. If you have a busy weekday schedule, arranging drop-offs and pick-ups may be inconvenient.

Since 1922, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Pet Boarding has been focused on all aspects of animal welfare in Hong Kong. Today, they also offer pet boarding and veterinary services for members.   

With eight locations across the city, including Wan Chai and Tsing Yi, it’s convenient to find a facility nearby. 

Both cats and dogs are welcome in their boarding facilities. With air-conditioned and soundproof units, it’s clear that SPCA has carefully designed an environment focused on comfort and tranquility.

Even better, all dogs receive one-on-one leisure time and outdoor interaction daily. This ensures they stay active and engaged.

Besides that, having a veterinary team on site provides peace of mind, especially in case of emergencies or health concerns.

However, you must first become an SPCA member to use their boarding services, which can be inconvenient for non-members.

Expansive boarding facilities 

“Amazing set of facilities for pets (dogs,  cats, birds, rodents, snakes, etc.). Hospital,  salon, adoption facility, vacation boarding, supplies and toy shop, you name it. We visited in hopes of adopting, and found each dog housed in 2×2 meter enclosures. Kennel Van Dego quickly earned a spot on our list, thanks to their expansive indoor and outdoor facilities. We’re especially impressed by their sheer size, boasting not just one but seven exercise playgrounds!

When it comes to boarding, the facility offers climate-controlled kennels in various designs and sizes to suit different breeds and needs.

In addition, add-on services are available for an additional charge for pet owners who want to pamper their furry companions. 

We also appreciate that dogs are taken out of their kennels multiple times a day for exercise and socialization with other dogs.

If your dog needs more attention and care, you can opt for evening walks and extra playtime. For the ultimate pampering, you can even treat it to a massage or a flower bath therapy session. 

One important aspect to note is their fixed check-in and check-out hours—10 AM to 12 PM and 2 PM to 4 PM. Drop-offs or pick-ups outside these hours incur an additional fee of HKD 100.

DogKingdom is the perfect place for dogs who prefer the finer things in life. 

The facility boasts 5,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor play areas. This includes an open-air platform and a beautiful lawn where dogs can zoom around and play. We can tell that a lot of effort has been put into designing this space.

We also love that dogs get three supervised playtime sessions each day. This ensures they don’t get bored while in the daycare.

It’s also great that dogs are grouped appropriately based on their personalities and temperament during playtime. We think this is the best way to ensure that dogs can enjoy socializing in a safe environment.

Speaking of safety, we also appreciate DogKingdom’s 24-hour CCTV monitoring feature. Pet owners can access live feeds and check on their pets whenever they want.

Another thing that sets them apart is their customized menus for pets. They prepare delicious meals, from fresh snacks to raw meat diets, all based on each dog’s taste.

Just a heads up, though—DogKingdom only accepts dogs that are at least six months old and have been microchipped.
